First of all,Firefox and Opera are both great browsers and i use both of them simultaneously.Now we got that out of the way let us compare Firefox and Opera.At the time of this review,the version of Firefox was 2.0.0.11 and Opera was 9.25.
Why Firefox is better than Opera :
1. Firefox has a smaller memory footprint than Opera and hence is slightly faster.
2. Firefox is more similar to Internet Explorer and thus users can easily switch over from IE to Firefox.
3. Firefox has got thousands of Add-ons much more than Opera and believe me these Add-ons do make life easier if you use your browser for anything more than checking mail.
4. In my personal opinion,it is slightly faster than Opera especially after using Firetune(a free utility to tweak Firefox.

Why Opera is better than Firefox :
1. Opera has got a download manager built-in.
2. Opera has got really great session saving feature which i wonder why Firefox lacks.
3. Opera has got a really cool feature which doesn't allow any pop-up or pop-under advertising to actually pop- OUT.
